Adding Miga to Translatewiki.net

Adding Miga to Translatewiki.net

Hello,

I have a new application, called the Miga Data Viewer, or Miga for short - it provides a lightweight data-browsing interface for structured data contained in CSV files, and it also has some "importer" scripts to enable creating CSV files from data from Wikipedia, Wikidata and other sources. The application is available under the GPL, and it's hosted on GitHub. Would it be possible to get this application's messages to be translated by Translatewiki.net? If so, what would I have to do, both in terms of modifying the code (right now all interface text is hardcoded) and otherwise?

Of course the text must not be hardcoded :) as for the formats you can choose, see mw:Help:Extension:Translate/File format support. JavaScript or JSON are probably what you're looking for. Keep in mind that, if not immediately, at some point you'll want to add plural support too. See for instance Etherpad lite which uses JSON and recently added plural support.

You'll also have to add documentation for the messages and to add @siebrand and @nikerabbit as users with push access. As for a more detailed evaluation, Siebrand or Niklas will check at some point.

Hello Yaron, I've read m:Grants:IEG/MediaWiki_data_browser/Midpoint and I saw expansion to other languages is among the next steps. If you plan to use PhoneGap, you may want to see what WikimediaMobile did for managing the localisation here on translatewiki.net. In any case, let us know if there is any blocker for you to choose and adopt some localisation format we support. Thanks!

Yaron could you reply about the file formats? If you are using a supported file format we can check that everything else is in order.

Yaron told me on IRC that he wishes to cancel this request.
