Hello there!

I want to request you to add the support for Romanized Pashto which is not based on Perso-Arabic written system. It is the writing system used by native Paxto or Pashto speakers living outside Afghanistan & Pakistan. After support is provided here in translatewiki, enable us translate the interface into Romanized Paxto or Pashto.

thanks

Ethnologue mentions nothing about this language using Latin script, so I'm not inclined to add support for it.

Yeah thats true that Ethnologue doesnt mention such thing. But Ethnologue doesnt mention everything as well and some of the information mentioned is not correct for example Waneci is not a Pashto dialect. It is a separate language. There are only three dialects of Pashto language Northern, Central and southern dialects.

I will not debate standards here. Please provide RFCs for ISO 639 through the proper channels.

People on the Unicode / CLDR mailing list indicate that using the Latin script is frowned upon and only used in the context of mobile phones Internet and at that hardly at all. Does not make me (us) enthusiastic to support it. Thanks,
