Hello. I was born in Olongapo City but raised in Iloilo until I was seven, at which point my family and I emigrated to Canada. I consider myself an English speaker first, but I do possess passive knowledge of Hiligaynon thanks to my parents and relatives. Although I have a good grasp of the grammar, my vocabulary is limited. I have a strong interest in languages and linguistics in general and so I'd like to learn and help preserve the language of my childhood. I'm currently undertaking self-study of Hiligaynon during my break before grad school.
