[edit] Languages
This is my linguistic knowledge:
- First language: My native language is Flemish (spoken) and Dutch (written) like most people here in Flanders...
- Second languages: I can speak (actually, write :p) very well in English, and have basic knowledge of French, German and Latin (Latin not spoken of course).
- Special language: I know the basic differences between Afrikaans and Dutch, so I can write some Afrikaans, based on Dutch.
- "Forgotten" language: I once learned some Ancient Greek but forgot most of it.
- Other: I also have a quite fluent level of the ISO 639 "language" :-)
Some simple userboxes:
This user believes that Flemish is an independent language and would like to see it recognised as an own language.
This user is totally against any artificial language which is just yet another duplicate of Latin or the other Romance languages.
[edit] Feature ideas
- Currently only MediaWiki:Editinginterface mentions Betawiki. But that message is only shown to sysops. It would be good if other messages mention Betawiki (done meanwhile except MediaWiki:Protectedinterface/test, but maybe then there are too much such messages..)
- Documentation for magic words and other things in Special:Magic.
- Add a message group for all core messages without the exif's. Should be possible with the variable $wgEXIFMessages.
- In some way (seems impossible to me) we need to disable local translations on WMF wikis, but of course still allow wiki customization.
