Hi Bellayet! Welcome to Betawiki. As per request you have been granted the role of translator. Please keep in mind that quality of your contributions is more important than quantity. Please let us know if you for example need to have the current system messages of a wikipedia imported as a starting point. Have fun! Cheers! Siebrand 27. elokuuta 2007 kello 13.05 (UTC)

Yes, I need the current system messages of a wikipedia imported as a starting point.--Bellayet 28. elokuuta 2007 kello 06.55 (UTC)
Hi Bellayet. I have committed the first messages to SVN. The old messages from bn.wikipedia will be removed soon. I may have committed messages that are only applicable to a Wikipedia, where the MediaWiki translation should be generic. Please give all message a close inspection. Thanks you for your effort! Cheers! Siebrand 11:29, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Milestone bn-3 missed

Dear Bellayet. I regret to have to inform you that you have failed to deliver on the requirement for the claim made here on 2008-02-05. Instead of the target 90%, 70% was reached. I however still would like to most kindly thank you for the effort you made. Please rethink if you will be able to put the time in that is needed when re-applying for a claim. I would not want you to get demotivated setting goals for yourself you would not be able to deliver on. Please consider taking up a claim with other users to lighten the load. Cheers! [edit] Babel extension

Hoi, here at Betawiki we are implementing the Babel extension.. Would you be so kind and help us with its localisation ? Thanks, GerardM 14:48, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your claim has been approved

Hi. This mail is just to let you know that your claim has been approved and that it is due 7 August 2008. My apologies for taking so long to approve it. The percentage of the claim that was still open has been calculated based on the date it was made. Cheers! Siebrand 16:43, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] most used messages

Hoi, there are only 21 most used messages that need lcoalising. These are the most used so doing them first makes a difference. Thanks, GerardM 08:25, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] To qualify for the rally, you must work on MediaWiki core

See Special:LanguageStats/bn and the rally rules. Your MediaWiki group must be at 90% or more before new translations are counted in your rally total. I put this here, just in case this was an oversight on your side. For Bengali, this means you need to translate some 400 more MediaWiki core messages, as your current 300 translations are solely on MediaWiki extensions. Siebrand 10:52, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] A little over 24 hours left to the end of the Translation Rally: you can still qualify!

Hi Bellayet. This is a note to let you know that with a little over a full day to go, you are not yet qualified to claim your part of the Rally incentive, but you are getting close with 411 qualifying edits. If you want to share in the reward, please give your effort a last push and give yourself the satisfaction of being able to prove you were there in the Summer of 2009! Siebrand 20:54, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

With about 3 hours in the rally left, you have 500 contributions, but you still need to translate about 200 MediaWiki core messages to have your translations on MediaWiki extensions count (as 'bn' has currently 80% of MediaWiki core translated, and the requirement is 90% to have contributions to extensions count...). [edit] Fundraiser demo: translations will not be used

Hey, I see you're translating in the fund-raiser demo. Please be aware that this is not compatible with the meta translations, and only meant as a demonstration of the possibilties that our functionality has to offer. In essence, working on that group is a waste of time. Just so you know :) Siebrand 14:47, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the information. :)--Bellayet 14:49, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Please have users create a user page

Hi. I see you have given a user translator rights. Excellent. Please be aware that our policy is that a user needs a sensible user page before this can happen. Ideally there is a link to a wiki home page on it, and a babel box. Thanks. Siebrand 10:11, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes I am giving the rights who have done a lot of edits at Bengali Wikipedia and whom I know. :) The people who already got the right, I'll suggest them to create their user page. and from next I'll not going to approve the right before they don't have that sensible user page. Please let me know any other necessary policies that I need to know. Thank you again for your valuable information.--Bellayet 10:21, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Need a easy to understand guideline

Hello Belayet vai,

I just started translatting here and done a few already. You gave a link of untranslated messages. But I can't see any change in the table when a translation is done. There are also some translated bengali messages that start with the expression "!!FUZZY!!". A bit confused, would you pls explain what it is and why my translations don't appear on the table?

Think I need some easy guidelines to follow. Is there any?

Thanks for ur suggestion

I think I got the point. Already gone through the "Intro" and "Localization guidelines". You have been such a great help! Thanks a lot.
