This message makes no sense: it should be consistent with the two other options, without a need to introduce pronouns we don't normally insert in English. In English, it should probably be "{{USERNAME}} edits wiki pages".

(It's wrong by the way to assume that one registered to a wiki in order to edit wiki pages.)

Nemo (talk)12:42, 27 February 2020

I didn't understand that message either. What is it for, actually? I translated it like "this person edits wiki pages" because we have no gender neutral pronouns in my language.

Translation of Wikimedia Gerrit

Is there going to be translated to Wikimedia Gerrit. It would also be cool. :)

Baran (talk)06:04, 26 February 2020

This message has all content displayed when error triggerred on Commons, even {{PLURAL:$1 and everything. I removed plural option for Serbian translation to temporarily fix it, on MediaWiki:File-exists-duplicate/sr-ec. I do not know if this error is only for sr-ec but I do not believe it is the case so please check and fix English too (and sr-ec if possible to have correct consistent form with en translation). I left singular form in sr-ec because I do not know how could a file be duplicate of several files...

Obsuser (talk)16:52, 23 February 2020

Could you give an example of duplicate files on Commons pls to verify of it is a parsing error or an l10n error. Thanks.

Raymond20:22, 23 February 2020

There are no duplicate files there but when one uploads file(s) and selects image that is already uploaded this message is displayed.

Obsuser (talk)20:54, 23 February 2020

Ok, thank you. A task was already written about this error: Phab:T244406. Please still use the PLURAL in translations.

Raymond21:08, 23 February 2020

OK. Thank you.

Raw HTML code visible

I've noticed that in some translations the apostrophe character is shown as raw HTML code (') while the translated message only has the ASCII apostrophe.

Is there a procedure for this bug?

Delete page

Please erase this page, I want to delete everything related to that name in google. Since I changed my name and that page doesn't make sense:

Iváns (talk)15:44, 16 January 2020

To do this I think we will have to delete the redirection currently setup from to I will check with Niklas on whether this is OK to do and perform this deletion. Please confirm if this is OK with you.

Abijeet Patro (talk)10:29, 17 January 2020

Go ahead, you can do it!

Iváns (talk)13:06, 23 January 2020

It seems like that page is the default template for unavailable talk pages, for eg see:

I don't think there is anything else that we can do here.

Abijeet Patro (talk)04:40, 28 January 2020

I already marked it to erase. It makes no sense a page of a user that no longer exists, now all the information is already passed to my new account. I want to erase every trace on the internet of my old name

Iváns (talk)11:46, 7 February 2020

Its not about no longer existing. If you take this URL - and replace the "ReplaceMe" part with any other string, you will still see the same page. Its a default template that appears for non-existent talk pages, irrespective of whether the user existed before or never existed.

Liquid thread issues

We have noticed that summarization of threads no longer works properly. See phab:T245109 for more information.

It seems preview is also broken.

Interface administrator ahoy

Please, could someone copy the contents of MediaWiki:Mobile-frontend-copyright/fy to MediaWiki:Copyright/fy. The message was reworded upstream, and the article 'de' should be removed (it could also be 'it' depending on the license name).

And one other small request over here:

Thank you very much!

Phabricator's discontinuation language

I have translated over 9K or 10K messages on Phabricator's messages, but I haven't seen Turkish language in Phabricator's preferences. Are they stopped to review the languages or the bot is broken?

Baran (talk)14:31, 10 January 2020

Hi Baran

I see that the strings that you've translated are exported out to the phabricator translations repository,

Once the translations have been submitted by translatewiki, they have to be compiled to a format that Phabricator understands. See here.

Abijeet Patro (talk)11:23, 12 January 2020

Oof. Thanks for the information.

Baran (talk)21:57, 13 January 2020

I see that some updates were made to the Phabricator's translations repository but don't see Turkish as an option in Phab's preferences. Anything else we can help with here?

Abijeet Patro (talk)10:24, 17 January 2020

If Wikimedia Phabricator added Turkish language on preferences, I would be appreciated it. :)

US-expired dates

Please change MediaWiki:Mwe-upwiz-license-pd-us/en and MediaWiki:Mwe-upwiz-license-pd-old-70-1923/en to state 1925 instead of 1924. Or simply “more than 95 years ago” so that they don’t need to be updated every year.

MediaWiki:wikibase-property-summary-wbsetaliases-update not availabe for translation

The message MediaWiki:wikibase-property-summary-wbsetaliases-update as shown in [1] is not available for translation. Seems that it is named MediaWiki:wikibase-entity-summary-wbsetaliases-update in translatewiki, instead.

Ans (talk)09:31, 30 January 2020

Lucas, do you have any idea?

Raymond13:43, 31 January 2020

The special page giving the list of Supported languages (linked from the tools in the sidebar) no longer works. As well all subpages listing the users from one of the languages listed. Was it uninstalled unexpectedly, or disabled because a recent upgrade of Mediawiki caused was incompatible and the extension for this special page no longer works or crashes ?

Sorry for the delay in responding to your ticket. We're currently reviewing your request, and will get back to you soon.

In order to get properly translated in Greek, message MediaWiki:Autoblockedtext needs gender parameters for $1. Check the see also messages too.

Protnet (talk)15:54, 1 January 2020

This message contains barely any language content, so I don’t think it needs to be translated into any Latin-script language (it certainly does need to be translated into languages e.g. using different digits, though). Can this be made optional? Thanks in advance!

A sentence that makes no sense

Hi! The translatable sentence in the MediaWiki:Machinevision-desc/en makes no sense. Here it is:

Interfaces with internal and external machine vision service providers and stores and serves results.

I've highlighted the confusing part. Please fix it and/or at least explain what it tries to say, so that I could translate it correctly.

Piramidion (talk)07:28, 12 December 2019

I assume this is an extension that can take images from MediaWiki (Wikimedia Commons?) and send them to a machine vision service. The machine vision service returns some information about the image (possibly things such as "depicts a domesticated cat, blue sky" or "a domesticated cat playing on a field") and this extensions stores this information in MediaWiki database. It probably also hooks into image pages/search to display this information and/or provides APIs through which this information can be accessed.

Nike (talk)14:12, 12 December 2019

Hi Piramidion, I believe that the first word, "interfaces", is the verb (as in "to interface") and not the noun. So, the sentence has three verbs: interfaces, stores, and serves.

Hamilton Abreu (talk)17:44, 12 December 2019

Note the first word “Interfaces” is a verb conjugated with third person. The implicit subject is “this extension”, which is also the subject for “stores” and “serves”.

Pols12 (talk)17:55, 12 December 2019

OMG, thanks! These explanations should be on the /qqq subpage (there seem to be quite a bunch of incorrect translations already). I thought that "interfaces" is a noun in the plural form.

Piramidion (talk)07:22, 13 December 2019

Please feel free to update the message description. They are freely editable.
