Extension:ArchiveLinks

Why doesn't Extension:ArchiveLinks appear here?

It has an i18n.php file, but only the English messages are there.

Amir E. Aharoni (talk)19:00, 20 October 2011

This extension was part of the GSoC. I do not know if it works/is finished. And it has not message documenation :-(

Raymond09:36, 24 October 2011

If this message must not be translated (as the documentation says), it should not be offered for translation in the first place.

Edit: Same with MediaWiki:Freqpatterntagcloudmaintenance/en

Done Done. Thanks for the report. Fixed with mwr:100591

Siebrand, en-CA isn't the same as en-US or en-GB. It has differences from both of them.

Dantman (talk)05:06, 23 October 2011

Dantman, en-CA is enabled for translation. What is necessary is that you ONLY translate where the translations in en-CA are different. Thanks,

GerardM (talk)10:12, 23 October 2011

I did. I translated the relevant messages in MediaWiki. Then Simetrical deleted every last one of the messages I translated.

Dantman (talk)10:33, 23 October 2011

When localisations are EXACTLY the same in en-CA they should not exist. When Simetrical did a good job he would leave everything that was different alone. Thanks.

GerardM (talk)16:31, 23 October 2011

GerardM, please get some context. Using SieBot (Special:Log/SieBot) Siebrand deleted every message for the en-CA locale (The correctly translated en-CA locale is now entirely empty) saying "en-ca not needed in MediaWiki.". en-CA has differences from both en-US:en and en-GB, and the only messages that were translated were the ones that were different from en-US.

Extension:FrequentPatternTagCloud

Hi it would be cool to include FreqPatternTagCloud into the translatewiki.net service. I see no reason why it should not be here. Thank you and cheers

[[kgh]] (talk)18:48, 20 October 2011

Will do it soon.

Looking to do a Manx translation... any help there ??

Hi there,

I am looking to do a Manx translation of Wikipedia for friends and family.

Is it possible to do a Legal wiki for the Manx Laws ??

I would love to join your crew.

Warmest regards.

Romwasn'tmadeinaday (talk)17:45, 18 October 2011

The Manx language Wikipedia is here.

It is always possible to create your own wiki if you wanted to do one for the Manx Laws only - you need to go to Mediawiki.org to create your own wiki.

If you want to contribute to the translation of the Mediawiki software into Manx then you can join the Manx team working here; see the Manx portal.

Lloffiwr (talk)19:52, 18 October 2011

You have to ask for translator rights for the "gv" language. See Special:FirstSteps.

Siebrand19:52, 18 October 2011

I've done a user page...

How do I ask for translator permissions ??

Romwasn'tmadeinaday (talk)21:04, 20 October 2011

Usercreated ("Created on $1 at $2") (used on Special:Listusers) needs gender support; I originally thought the lack of the support is an optimalization so that gender information need not be fetched for all those listed users, but obviously, the user groups displayed are already gender’ed, so this should not be a problem.

Would you please file a feature request in bugzilla:?

Several MediaWiki messages use the × character. Most of them have space before and after it, but this message doesn't. Unless i'm missing something, it should be uniform.

Amir E. Aharoni (talk)22:17, 14 October 2011

Fixed. Fixed.

Siebrand22:49, 18 October 2011

Should it be a non-breaking space?

Incorrect autonym for "lij"

There is a problem with Ligure language, here is called Liguru and for us sound a bit ridicolous! The correct name is "Ligure". Please help me change the language name. Thanks Alessio Gastaldi (gastaz)

Gastaz (talk)07:10, 17 October 2011

Done Done with mwr:100021. Needs deployment on the WMF cluster to become visible in Wikipedia. Hopefully in the next few days.

Raymond10:30, 17 October 2011

But http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Portal:Lij&diff=3355339&oldid=672638&curid=15906 says Lìgure. We have not at least three names floating around, which one is it?

Nike (talk)10:40, 17 October 2011

Both are correct. You can write "Ligure" or "Lìgure". I suggest "Ligure" without the accent (that is not mandatory), is more simple and is written like italian.

Gastaz (talk)06:44, 19 October 2011

Another thing that is not very important, but still:

This message says: "Please contact your Internet service provider or tech support". People may misunderstand it and think that these are two separate things. I think that "tech support" should be removed - for private homes tech support is the main way of contacting the Internet service provider and people who use the Internet in organizations can somehow figure it out. Or maybe it can say "the tech support of your organization".

Amir E. Aharoni (talk)20:23, 14 October 2011

Fixed. Fixed.
