Hello. Please make me translation administrator for a day for testing.Thank you
Sorry, as a normal bureaucrat, I can't give you translation administrator rights. Please contact a staff member.

I am supporting this request.
Could you please specify what fallback means within Wikipedia? Or link me to the info? Thanks a lot
Fallback to Russian, next to English. Thanks
I finished translation for Wikimania announcement, but the published page says that duedate for Wikimania scholarship is 20 January, which is not true. Can you please use the offerred translation so that all sentences show in ja corresponding to the latest en original?
Hei.
The Finnish translation are in the master branch: https://github.com/inaturalist/inaturalist/commit/d8817022a1e838e46aaccd76ec67e0e21a99161c
You would have to ask them directly why some strings are not listed in https://github.com/inaturalist/inaturalist/blob/d8817022a1e838e46aaccd76ec67e0e21a99161c/config/locales/en.yml
Which term including "sandbox" on translatewiki.net cause big trouble in jawiki UI ? My translation into サンドボックス was reverted.
My reverted translation has caused quite a trouble among jawiki users; they had claimed that their sandoxes had been deleted or disappeared without any prior notice. To date, measures are taken and claiming editors are happy to see the trouble is solved. I felt discouraged to find a note reporting the situation on my userpage, however, I find it a great chance to learn something actually.
My question: Is there anything left to solve the problem? Is there any FAQ which suggest me to consider before translating any essential strings like in this case? How can I tell some translation sources are closely related to UI on, say, jawiki?
- History: The actual problem on jawiki seems to be solved (not sure). There were claims at two pages, and the process how they found the way around is documented.
Nothing more needs to be done to resolve this issue.
The message documentation does have a note now: Changing this message in established languages will break links!
I see, and yes, I’ve been avoiding to change message to prevent broken links. So technically when jawiki users find inconvenient change in UI caused by translation.net, they will discuss and repeat the measure they applied this time. Am I right? In that case, is anybody aware of similar cases in other languages? Will it involve coordinating tasks among projects involved to upgrade the situation, or a Community Wishlist item for 2018?
list of messages to review is EMPTY for project MEDIAWIKI while statistics says only 40% are done.
Si au lieu de FRANCAIS on selectionne DEUTSCH (par exemple) dans la liste vide des items à relire, alors une liste de message à relire en allemant apparait bien. Il y a donc bien un problème avec la relecture MediaWiki/Fr.
subproject popup closes immediatly after display preventing rereader from selecting a subproject
I noticed the Wikimania 2018 scholarship application form is still set to 2017 for many translations. For example for Dutch, it was updated to 2018 on 20 December, but as of right now the application form still shows the old version. Could this be synced please? The form is being used right now, with 22 January as registration deadline. I am also writing this on Wikimania2018wiki. Thanks.
I am exporting two times a week. For example that translation was exported on December 21th:
2226e832 (Translation updater bot 2017-12-21 08:53:05 +0100 20) "wikimania-location-year": "Kaapstad, Zuid-Afrika, 2018",
I don't know how translations from git are synced to the website.
Is there a reason why the error messages are displayed above the textbox, making the textbox annoyingly bob up and down whenever I'm too slow typing out variables or correcting errors. This has been bugging me for a long time and I find it strange that this hasn't been fixed by now.
There are soooo many API-specific messages, and they will only be read by a tiiiiiny fraction of the people who use MediaWiki. I'd like to focus on translating anything else, but as far as I know there's no way to do that. Would it be possible to implement something to filter them out from Special:Translate (and the stats at Special:LanguageStats)?
I would add Danish to Arabic translation to my account. Thanks
I have been very surprised to fin GREEK text to reread while I currently review only french items.
First item displayed this morning: Phabricator:phabricator-slowvote-a2b408e5686fc3a1/fr
English original text: $1 changed who can see the responses of $2.
French text to validate: $1 άλλαξε αυτόν που μπορεί να δει τις απαντήσεις του $2.
!!! surprising isnt it ?
Other similar found: Phabricator:phabricator-uiexample-5c84c4e1000190f0/fr Phabricator:phabricator-uiexample-ebeb7d81d884ff47/fr ... example https://translatewiki.net/w
Now the items are tagged "redirected"
Example: Phabricator:phabricator-uiexample-ebeb7d81d884ff47/fr shows text
If I see this text, that means for rereaders , the redirection has not worked .
So what must I do now ???? Do i keep this Redirection information untouched ? or do I translate the english text in french ignoring the redirection text ?
Yes please replace the bad translations with proper French translation.
Help! I have just written "to be translated" because nobody has translated the remaining REDIRECTED items. Now I see that the corresponding items are no longer proposed for rereading but hold this default text. How can these items be put in the list "for translation in french" again ? ex: Phabricator:phabricator-uiexample-eaf3829baf48c395/fr
I wanted to try to download a localization manually.
So, I went to https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:ExportTranslations&group=commons-android-strings and selected "Italian" (a language known to have near-complete localization) and "Export in native format", then clicked "Fetch".
Problem: All I get is a nearly empty file containing only "<resources/>".
Not a problem since I can get them from our Git, but I just thought I would let you know about this problem. Cheers!
Hello from the Commons Android project,
We have 3 new files that we would like to translate.
If we have made no mistake, our https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/diffusion/GTWN/browse/master/groups/Wikimedia/CommonsAndroid.yaml would need this to be added at its end:
--- BASIC: id: commons-android-title label: Commons Android App (title) MANGLER: prefix: commons-android-marketing- FILES: sourcePattern: "%GROUPROOT%/commons-android/marketing/app-title-%CODE%.txt" definitionFile: "%GROUPROOT%/commons-android/marketing/app-title.txt" --- BASIC: id: commons-android-shortdesc label: Commons Android App (short description) MANGLER: prefix: commons-android-marketing- FILES: sourcePattern: "%GROUPROOT%/commons-android/marketing/app-shortdesc-%CODE%.txt" definitionFile: "%GROUPROOT%/commons-android/marketing/app-shortdesc.txt" --- BASIC: id: commons-android-longdesc label: Commons Android App (long description) MANGLER: prefix: commons-android-marketing- FILES: sourcePattern: "%GROUPROOT%/commons-android/marketing/app-longdesc-%CODE%.txt" definitionFile: "%GROUPROOT%/commons-android/marketing/app-longdesc.txt"
The 3 files are text files. 2 of them are very short one-liners. 1 is very large, split in a few dozen lines. Feel free to adapt to your convenience.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the patch. Is it problematic for you to submit it via gerrit?
