May I suggest that the FUEL messages be subgrouped according to application rather than just the 'desktop, mobile, web' setup we have now? So we'd better understand their meanings and relations with each other.

This is how FUEL works. There are three groups of messages in the standard.

Thanks for the query. Actually we think for the same but there the same type of application can have different type of approach for different type of entries. For example, Home on desktop can be different from Home on Mobile and so on Web and so there translation may change. And so having this type of modular approach is better afaiu.

Intranslateable without knowing what was published by whom, respectively the respective grammatical genders. Should be reworded with placeholders and using GENDER.

Hello, what is translation project FUEL for? There are 3 words as information only - Beta. Unicorns. Bunnies. This sounds like Playboy but not like a serious software. There isn't any information on the TW main page, either. Thanks.

It's a glossary project translation we picked up in our last visit to India. There is a little bit of information at Translating:FUEL. I hope someone else can elaborate.

is it a noun or a verb?

I'm expecting message documentation to be displayed for all messages in FUEL soon. Probably before the start of tomorrow.

There is message documentation now, but your question appears to not be answered by it.

There are a lot of such cases where it is impossible to understand what part of speech it is → imposible to translate clearly…

Please make separate threads for all of them, and I'll ask the FUEL people to improve the documentation for all of those cases.

I think it'd be wise for Fuel to point out what kind of word each of its terms to be translated are: noun, verb or adjective so we can translate better. It's not easy to translate certain words from English accurately because words like 'Filter' without any affixes or agglutinations could be either a noun (thing) or verb (action).

They are aware of it. Sometimes things could be improved, indeed.

Message documentation for this string is:

Context: Open office – Oocalc – Data – Filter. Shows commands to filter your data.

Is that sufficient?

From what I understand, the documentation implies that this 'Filter' is an action, i.e. a verb, right?

Yes, that's what I understand, too.

What does "history" mean in this context?

• "revision history listed" as in MediaWiki
• "history" as in 'the history of ancient Egypt'?
• "past" as in 'Yougoslavia is history'?

Is this a noun or a verb? As a verb it would be "Filteren" in Dutch, as a noun it would be "Filter".
