"Announcement"

Is the word "announcement" in:

being used as a synonym for "advertisement" and "ad"?

Hamilton Abreu01:53, 25 June 2010

As far as I know more like a site notice, but I'll check.

Siebrand13:24, 25 June 2010

I thought the same, but there are no further messages referring to announcements (like "Create announcement", for example, which would then lead to the first message above).

Hamilton Abreu13:31, 25 June 2010

Talked with the developer. An announcement is indeed similar to the MediaWiki sitenotice: a site wide announcement, repeated on every page.

Siebrand17:18, 25 June 2010

Documented. Many thanks.

Supergroup for Shapado messages

Hi, it would be cool to get something like "MediaWiki extensions" für Shapado. This would make it easier to check translations. Cheers --kgh 08:16, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

kgh08:16, 9 June 2010

I agree, and it will be done as soon as it is technically possible. Also see our call for developers in the sitenotice at the top of every page. If you can help us get more volunteer developers on the project, we can roll out even more amazing features.

Siebrand08:59, 9 June 2010

Hi Siebrand, ah I see. I was not aware, that it requires technical adjustments. No worries and no rush. Sadly I do not know any developers. :-( Cheers --kgh 09:07, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

placeholders

Hi, do placeholders like "%{user}" as in Shapado:Users-users.show.title/en have to be localised? So far I have not done so. Cheers --kgh 22:39, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

kgh22:39, 21 June 2010

No, they should not be localised, or they will not work. They are parameters.

Siebrand22:50, 21 June 2010

Thanks, I just wanted to be sure. Cheers --kgh 22:58, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

New source file: config/locales/notifier/en.yml

This is a new file and is not yet integrated into translatewiki.net.

http://gitorious.org/shapado/shapado/blobs/master/config/locales/notifier/en.yml

Discon11:41, 20 June 2010

You're much too quick. It takes a while for us to add support. Real life, and such :)

I've reviewed the file, some changes were made, and I made a few changes too. Everything was synched into the master repo, and lo and behold!

Btw, Greek translation is missing! :P

Shapado:Manage-admin.manage.properties.constrains.reputation constrains description/en

This formular allows you to configure how much reputation points users to be able to do a given action → This formular allows you to configure how much reputation points users need to be able to do a given action

I know I should not report things like this at the moment. However, if I do not do it now, I will most probably forget it.

kgh11:38, 16 June 2010

That's fine to report. Reporting PLURAL issues is not something that we can do something with.

Siebrand12:57, 16 June 2010

Updated to "This form allows you to configure how many reputation points users gain or lose for a given action". Will be updated within a few days.

Siebrand18:36, 16 June 2010

Hi Siebrand, thanks for your help. Are you sure the new message text is ok? It has a totally different meaning now and it does not fit to the message description. Cheers

kgh19:00, 16 June 2010

I'll double check. I interpreted the message as I paraphrased it; I see it can also be explained differently.

Siebrand19:50, 16 June 2010

I've asked Patcito to take a look at it.

Shapado:Closereq-close requests.model.prural name

kgh10:46, 12 June 2010

Depends on the code. If it's typoed there, too, it wouldn't need a change. I'll check.

Siebrand10:49, 12 June 2010

Good to know. Thanks for looking into it. --kgh 10:51, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

kgh10:51, 12 June 2010

Done Done It was indeed typod in both the code and the i18n files. Still, I changed it for style reasons. Will only be active after my updates have been pushed to master repo.

de-formal?

Does this support "de-formal"? Would be good to know before translating.

The Evil IP address14:06, 9 June 2010

The product doesn't have complex fallback, and falls back to English, so I would advise to not make a de-formal for it, unless it's a complete translation.

Siebrand23:31, 9 June 2010

I think this project is like WikiReader. Thus we have to do a complete informal or formal translation. --kgh 10:45, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

kgh10:45, 12 June 2010

That'd be correct. But here's another issue. I think that Rails i18n might have a hard time understanding it. I'd hold off on the formal localisation for now. I'll look into it, but with a low priority.

Siebrand10:51, 12 June 2010

Thanks for your info. I just posted a link to this discussion on DE to let others know. Cheers --kgh 10:56, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

This message seems intrinsically non-sensical; if it refers to an average number of votes, then it shouldn't say "having an answer with". Maybe what is meant is "having an answer rate that reaches"...

Hamilton Abreu23:19, 9 June 2010

where can I start translation Shapado to Korean?

I can't find the starting point as I can't edit the page below.

http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:Translate&group=out-shapado-ads&language=ko

Linkr01:47, 8 June 2010

Looks like you found out. You have a user page, translator rights, and on Special:LanguageStats/ko you can see the Shapado message groups.
