Betawi configuration

Hi!

Thank you for your translations into Betawi!

Your language is now mostly ready for being used as a user interface language, but it requires a big more configuration.

First, what is the fallback language? That is, if a message is not translated into Betawi, should it be shown in Indonesian, Malaysian, Javanese, English, or some other language?

Thank you for helping me to edit some mistakes related to the programming language.

The fallback language should be Indonesian. As for the original name of the language, it is "Basa Betawi", but the English form of the name, I propose as "Batavian" as I have also already addressed CLDR on https://unicode-org.atlassian.net/browse/CLDR-16729. However, the original name of the language is "Basa Betawi".

I am currently translating Discussiontools-preference-sourcemodetoolbar-help/bew. However, it says "Publishing the translation failed: [fa1e8f3a8fc976e8f022209f] Caught exception of type Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError". What should I do? Can you help me to add the translation in Betawi as this:

Betawi is now available as a user interface language

Hi!

Good news: Betawi is now enabled here on translatewiki and also on the Wikimedia Incubator as a user interface language!

You can switch to it like this:

• On the desktop: by clicking the language name at the top of the screen next to your username. (Currently, it's probably "English" or "Indonesia"), and then searching for "Betawi" in the panel that will open and clicking on "Betawi".
• On a mobile phone on the Incubator: Go to incubator:Wp/bew and click "Set Betawi as your user interface language".

As you have requested, things that aren't translated are shown in Indonesian (if they are translated into Indonesian; if not, they are shown in English.)

I recommend selecting Betawi as your language and using it to test whether the translation works well. If you find anything that could be translated better, you can do it here. If anything is difficult, ask me any time :) Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 13:51, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

I think that these names are translated in CLDR. It's complicated, but possible.

I mean, I saw like Old Church Slavonic is translated to "Bahasa Gerja Slavonia" to Indonesian. I was just curious whether there is possibility to translate these names to Betawi as the interface is already in Betawi.

Sorry for chatting you again. I have two questions:

1. Related to localisation, in any case of translation update, how many times in a week (probably) will the keys (with the translations) be updated?
2. Probably this is not related to this field, however I still need to ask. I am currently developing Wikipedia for Betawi on Incubator. But, there are still a lot of missing templates. I have an intention to solve this. What are the templates that should be made on our incubator page? Thanks.
