Welcome to Betawiki!

Hi Brion. Welcome to Betawiki! Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. If you are going to be an active user here, please also add your name to the languages you will be working on. Before you can use Special:Translate, and Special:Magic, please request translator rights. If you have a wiki where a lot of translations have already been made, you can make an import request. Other useful pages are linked in the menu that comes with this message.

Once you have started translating, your work will be committed to the standard product every few days. If you want to explicitely request your work to be added, please make a request for commit.

I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 23:27, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

If the device language is set to Bahasa Indonesia the app should default to Indonesian Wikipedia, but if you need to manually override the language in the app (or have the device running in another language) you can do so:

  1. Tap "W" to open menu
  2. Tap "..." to open more settings
  3. Select "Search <language> Wikipedia" to change search language and pick "Bahasa Indonesia/Indonesian"

Still thinking about ways to make this easier, maybe make a switcher option findable on the toolbar or in the search... :)

Hi Brion, I mean is the language of the interface is not Wikipedia language. How can I make the interface language in Wikipedia app matches the language on my mobile device. Please help me. Sorry to bother you. Regards.

Sorry for my bad English.

Currently you would have to change the phone's user interface language to the one you want:

  • home button
  • Settings app
  • 'General'
  • 'International'
  • 'Language'
  • select language, eg Bahasa Indonesia

However a) this will only work for languages supported by Apple, and b) it will change the UI language for the entire system and other apps as well.

Bonjour Brion, voila je viens de finir la traduction de l'interface wikipedia mobile en kabyle et je souhaiterai l'activer pour que nous puissions profiter de cette option sur nos smartphone.

In theory you can use apps to add custom locales, but Android doesn't seem to fully support locales with three-letter codes. I'm not sure this is currently possible just now.

Hi Brion, I have posted a question concerning this on Translating_talk:WikipediaMobile. Just to make sure if full translations are needed or not. Thank you and cheers
