Exif is a format for storing metadata in image files. See this Wikipedia article and the example at the bottom of this page on Commons. The tags are explained briefly and in further detail.

The subject of a photograph is the person or thing on which the camera focuses. 'Subject distance' is the distance to the subject given in meters.
