This has caused mistranslations in multiple languages: ja (fixed by me), yue, zh-hans, zh-hanw, etc.

I think this should be:

• Square root of ("total edits made" - "total unique pages") * 2

or

• (Square root of ("total edits made" - "total unique pages")) * 2

To be frank, I think the technical explanation should be removed altogether. If anywhere, it could be explained on mw:Extension:ContributionScores.
