How can a single file contain “information on more than one file”? Unless I’m missing something (due to my lack of knowledge of file systems), a file is one file. It seems to me that this message is poorly written, but I could be wrong.

You are right, this message is poorly written. I expanded the documentation, I hope it makes sense now.

We understand what the descried situatiion is, but the message text makes less sense than ever and needs to be redone. Only one file can be submitted at a time. is apparently outright wrong, according to the current message documentation, which states that two files had been uploaded.

Only one file is uploaded. The other is downloaded by MediaWiki itself.

The message text still needs to be turned into something useful and understandable.

Please file a bug report or patch then. I don't know what else to do.

I do not understand the context and I do not understand the message. I am not the author. Imho the author of the message should know what he was wanting to convey.
