Closed because there was no follow-up by requester.

Would like to find out about using this service to get translation support for Friendika, a free distributed social communications server. I believe we meet all the requirements except that we don't at the moment have support for RTL text. Should have it in a few weeks. We're also still trying to come up with a good solution to identity gender as we support a lengthy array of gender options. Expect to have this resolved also in the coming weeks.

Currently available translations include de,it,fr and sv. An es translation is in progress. We use .po files which are then converted to our native format. One of our contributors has done a reasonably good job of making the project "translation ready".

What is your native format?

They use gettext - and then convert the .po files to a PHP format which they use internally. They are working on a release. Once that is out of the way, translatewiki.net gets proper attention. This will take around two weeks.
