When using plural expression of gettext in MediaWiki, is there a way to pass the amount parameter to <nowiki>{{PLURAL:GETTEXT|</nowiki>?

Hi. I find it mentioned here that there is no regular specification. But the example currently shown does not mention how to pass in the amount parameter, for example:

{{PLURAL:%1|one|others}}

Is there a way to pass in the amount parameter? Like this?

{{PLURAL:GETTEXT:%1|one|others}}
