Could you explain change you made to message documentation?

Thanks for improving the Blockly message documentation. There was one change I didn't understand. You changed:

The use of '\n', which indicates a new line, is optional.

to:

The use of a new line character is optional.

Why? With your description, it's not clear to me translators would know which character(s) to use to indicate the new line.

See the following pages:

On translatewiki.net, messages and their documentation are interpreted as wikitext, so single new line character (\n) is invisible.

This is the reason for my change. Thanks.

If the translator types in \n, do you know how it will appear in the created json file?

If the translator enters \n, \\n will appear in the JSON file.

But I think the code \n is too technical for translators.

Can they embed a carriage return (generated by pressing the Enter/Return key)? Do you know how that would appear in the JSON?

Yes. Translators can use the Enter key. \n will appear in the JSON file.
