Template:Cannot be the same as/doc

This is the documentation subpage for the parent Template:Cannot be the same as page.

Mark messages which are near-synonyms (e.g. "patroller" and "reviewer"), or otherwise easily confused (e.g. "upload" and "reupload"), but which must not use the same text in translation, because they're used e.g. as items in the same dropdown list, and MediaWiki doesn't like duplicates there (phab:T30313, phab:T360326).

Example

Shown as warning if some of the messages are not yet translated:

The translation of this message cannot be the same as Foo (page does not exist), Bar (page does not exist) and Baz (page does not exist).

Shown as success if all translations exist and are distinct:

The translation of this message cannot be the same as Monday ("Monday"), Tuesday ("Tuesday") and Wednesday ("Wednesday").

Shown as error if some of the translations are the same:

The translation of this message cannot be the same as Rcshowhideanons-hide ("Hide") and Rcshowhidebots-hide ("Hide").
