Unfortunately, the way the extension is constructed, where this message is embedded in JavaScript with an additional AJAX call, I will be unable to improve the construction of this message. I have added QQQ documentation to help explain the message better, hopefully this will suffice.

So the extension is bugged, and some more extensive rework has to be done, right? This patch set may provide some help. Otherwise, see mw:L10n#PLURAL_and_GENDER_support_in_JavaScript for more details. All should be possible with the current JavaScript libraries in MediaWiki core.
