Your syntax is incorrect.

It looks like this:

{{WHICH-PARAMETER-IS-USED|TO-DISPLAY-FOR-SINGULAR|TO-DISPLAY-FOR-PLURAL}}

Optionally, if relevant for your language and it is configured, there can be additional plural forms after "TO-DISPLAY-FOR-PLURAL".

Your translation should probably look something like:

{{PLURAL:$1|Eellin cirjauz|$1 eellissa cirjaussa}}

Which roughly translates back to:

{{PLURAL:$1|One previous result|$1 previous results}}
