For meters, most languages just use 'm' to abbreviate it. It appears in a list of multiple values, so the abbreviation is encouraged. Not sure if an equivalent abbreviation exists for feet. But as brion mentioned, not a lot of Czech users probably would switch from metric to imperial units.
