Translation doesn't get saved

Which messages are you talking about, the OSM page? If you click the unsaved translation again you should see what error there is, in that case it would be that it's restricted because no translation is actually requested. I'll check if there's a bug about such messages being listed despite not being translatable (there should be one because it was already reported).
