Translating:DiscordWikiBot
DiscordWikiBot is a console application that powers WikiBot, a Discord bot used by a number of Wikimedia community servers on Discord. It provides a number of helpful features for Discord servers, like easy linking to wiki pages, and informing about recent changes in Wikimedia projects and in translations on Translatewiki.net.

Translation notes
Messages are using Markdown syntax with extensions provided by SmartFormat library:
- Variables start from zero and have the following syntax:
{0},{1}, … - Plural support is available and done like this:
{0} {0:author|authors},{0} {0:автор|автора|авторов}. Code with current supported languages. - Other messages without any parameters can be inserted into each other with
{msg:example}syntax. This syntax should be left untranslated.
Emoji names, like :white_check_mark:, can be sometimes used in messages. They should be left untranslated.
To make a line break, one line break should be used, not two like it is done in MediaWiki.
Fallback languages are supported by using MediaWiki’s language list. There is no RTL support provided by Discord (the app itself), but translation is possible (see feature request).
English (en) and Russian (ru) translations are submitted by the maintainers and do not need to be edited. English translation is written in British English.
Glossary
- Stream (short for ‘recent changes stream’): a term for the bot posting messages about new changes in a specific channel on a Discord server, like in ‘live stream’. Potential synonyms: broadcast, transmission.
Exports
Languages with translation completion less than 25% are not committed to version control. If the project consists of multiple message groups, the limit is applied to each group separately.
Translation updates are exported to version control every Monday and Thursday.
