Printf string used to display this form. You would likely use a %s to specify where a field should be subsitutued into the string.

tutued ???? should be corrected in the original

Christian (talk)10:31, 1 September 2015

Has typo

Siebrand13:07, 25 September 2015

Typo: "intgerated" should be "integrated"

Liuxinyu970226 (talk)07:16, 10 February 2017

If it refers to kilobytes, the unit is written wrong. It should be kB (with a lowercase k and an uppercase B).

Fitoschido (talk)02:36, 28 November 2016

Typo? Should be "Calendar Year"

Liuxinyu970226 (talk)11:16, 20 April 2016

Spelling mistake?

Nike (talk)23:44, 15 November 2014

Done Done Apparently so. Fixed.

Siebrand01:52, 16 November 2014

This message should support plural.

Siebrand15:03, 23 March 2014

The message is correct as it is. the s at the beginning and end are (placeholder) formatting strings (%s). so when substituted, the full message will be like: Pretest Results (Passing score: 75)

Do you think this is enough to proceed or we still need more modifications.

Cheers

Sovello (talk)09:39, 26 September 2014

For what I know, dozens of Slavic languages are having more than one plural words, e.g. {{PLURAL:$1|участник|участника|участников}}.

Liuxinyu970226 (talk)11:42, 8 December 2014

"occured" should be "occurred".

This message needs plural support.

Siebrand15:06, 23 March 2014

The message is complete as it is. It is a label for results for different exam types. for example it would be Final Test Results when the parameter is substituted for.

Sovello (talk)10:24, 26 September 2014

He's asking: Could we change the word "Result" to "%s {{PLURAL:%s|Result|Results}}".

However, do we really need it?

Looks like something's wrong with this string.

Siebrand14:59, 23 March 2014

the first part edit student was originally edit_student: as a tag for the label Edit Student. Same issue as for remove student here

Siebrand14:59, 23 March 2014

Also can I translate "no_edit_students"?!

Liuxinyu970226 (talk)11:33, 23 September 2014

You don't have to translate "no_edit_students" because this is just a tag for internal reference. when it is picked up as a string it gets stripped-off of the underscores. so originally it should read no_edit_students:You do not have persmission...

We'll work to see how we can address this issue.

Siebrand14:59, 23 March 2014

the first part is the tag for the label. it is the second part Remove Student that shows up to the user.

Looks like something's wrong with this string.

Siebrand14:59, 23 March 2014

I have looked for string "add student Add Student" and couldn't find it. Maybe the translation templating engine removed some punctuations because what I see in the .po and .pot files is add_student:Add Student. add_student here is used as a tag (like default:Firstname in other strings).

Carl: is there a way we can set so that the tags (like default:Firstname or generate:Generate this number) don't show up in the pot files?

Cheers

Parameters should be numbered

Siebrand15:03, 23 March 2014

This message has the same issue as this one here.

What is the best way to number the parameters?

Sovello (talk)09:45, 26 September 2014

This string is part of patchwork. Please don't do that, and restructure your code so that sentences stay together. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/I18n#Avoid_patchwork_messages for some more details.

Siebrand15:09, 23 March 2014

Need proper links in qqq

a tag is disabled on MediaWiki and the result is quite catastrophic: commons:File:IHRIS-qqq.png. Please convert HTML links to wikitext external links.

Nemo (talk)15:35, 19 December 2013

Hi Nemo! Am not clear as to what I should do about this message.

Cheerio

Sovello (talk)08:02, 13 January 2014

Hi Sovello, I mean that IMHO as a translator it would be nice if the message/string comments aka message documentation (qqq) used wikimarkup. That is, instead of:

<a href='http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~intrahealth+informatics/i2ce/4.0-dev/annotate/head%3A/modules/CustomReports/modules/PieChart/templates/en_US/customReports_display_control_PieChart.html#L120'>modules/CustomReports/modules/PieChart/templates/en_US/customReports_display_control_PieChart.html</a>

I'd like to have

[http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~intrahealth+informatics/i2ce/4.0-dev/annotate/head%3A/modules/CustomReports/modules/PieChart/templates/en_US/customReports_display_control_PieChart.html#L120 modules/CustomReports/modules/PieChart/templates/en_US/customReports_display_control_PieChart.html]

which is equally readable (if not more) on a code comment and displays nicely as

modules/CustomReports/modules/PieChart/templates/en_US/customReports_display_control_PieChart.html

here on wiki.

Nemo (talk)21:35, 11 March 2014

Hi Nemo, I am upgrading the source links to use the wiki style now. You should see them the next time translatewiki is refreshed.

Fantastic! Thank you very much and sorry for being so slow in answering this one.

Context needed

Ros3cin (talk)02:16, 29 January 2013

I couldn't get a specific location where this word is used. But a common place is 'Stale time' for cached tables. So this is the time we consider a cached table is out of date/not fresh/has lost novelty. Is not current/up to the moment.

Is this helpful?

Cheerio

Sovello (talk)19:15, 22 July 2013

No, because you closed the issue without answering the question :). So I opened it again.

Here are my grep results in i2ce, hope that helps.

modules/CustomReports/configs/en_US/CustomReports.xml: <value>Stale</value>
modules/CustomReports/CustomReports.xml: <value>Stale</value>
modules/CustomReports/lib/I2CE_CustomReport.php:                'stale'=>'Stale',
Siebrand18:56, 23 July 2013

Here stale means "Not up-to-date"

Patchwork message? Feels as if this will be followed by a link to another report or something...

Siebrand07:44, 21 January 2013

Yes Siebrand. What comes after that is a link to the report for the report and the statement becomes complete.

Cheers!

Sovello (talk)18:46, 22 July 2013

To ensure that this thing can be properly translated, that link to the report should be part of the message as a parameter. I've reopened the issue; patchwork messages are bad in software, because they disable proper options for localisation.

Siebrand18:45, 23 July 2013

Hi Siebrand! The full statement would read "This report view is based on the report StaffByAgeRanges" if StaffByAgeRanges is the name of the report. This name could be any otherthing based on what the user sets, plus the name can be in any language based on the preferred language for the user.

Or what did you mean when you said the link should be part of the message as a parameter? do you mean we should include something like a placeholder say "This report view is based on the report %s"?

Cheers
