User talk:Steven*fung

From translatewiki.net

Hi Steven*fung. Welcome to Betawiki. You have been granted translator proviledges and can start translating at Special:Translate. Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on and make sure it contains a link to your user page on your home wiki.

Please remember to often request a commit of your translation work at Translating:Tasks. This makes the number of changes easier to handle for the devs.

I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 05:36, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Siebrand!--Steven*fung 08:45, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Magic words, namespaces, commands, etc.: do not translate

Hi Steven. Please do not translate things like fullurl, User talk, Special:Allpages, , etc. These must stay in English, as otherwise your localisation will not work. Cheers! Siebrand 23:23, 28 September 2007 (UTC) Reply

Thanks Siebrand! Sorry, I thought I had the complete list of untranslatable words here:
  1. common* (2)
  2. edittools
  3. exif-* (273)
  4. export* (7)
  5. feed* (2)
  6. import* (27)
  7. lock* (8)
  8. mainpagedocfooter
  9. mainpagetext
  10. metadata* (6)
  11. monobook* (2)
  12. pagetitle
  13. unlock* (6))

Does this include all words inside brackets {{}} ?

Is there anything else I shouldn't translate? --Steven*fung 23:34, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have fixed all bad messages (I hope). So you can take a look at my fixes. If I see more, I'll just let you know. No biggie, just extra work :) Cheers! Siebrand 00:03, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Siebrand and sorry for the hassle. So I ignore all words that are inside brackets? --Steven*fung 00:08, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Please use common sense. If there is a blue link in the English version, there should also be a blue/working link in the translated version. Before I commit, I will usually do some sanity check on the changed messages. If I find stuff that was done incorrectly, I'll let you know. Cheers! Siebrand 06:54, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
