This page contains a list with todo items anyone can help out with. If something is unclear, please ask about it on the IRC channel. Once you have more clarity, please update the todo item and claim it by adding your name and a date behind it. You are expected to provide updates on the topic on a monthly basis. If you fail to do so, it is assumed that you dropped the task, and someone else is free to continue working on it.

[edit] Dive into CLDR

The Unicode Common Locale Data Repository provides key building blocks for software to support the world's languages. CLDR is by far the largest and most extensive standard repository of locale data. This data is used by a wide spectrum of companies for their software internationalization and localization: adapting software to the conventions of different languages for such common software tasks as formatting of dates, times, time zones, numbers, and currency values; sorting text; choosing languages or countries by name; and many others.

Translatewiki.net use the localised language names in the CLDR extension. It would be great if a community member would be able to gain access into the CLDR sources and help out there, with translations that originate from translatewiki.net. First thing would be to get the English names in for languages that we have but are not yet in CLDR[1] (Added by Siebrand 14:20, 5 July 2008 (UTC))

[edit] Create a new logo and favicon

Translatewiki.net, whichever has your preference, currently has no logo and uses the MediaWiki favicon. As we are slowly transforming into a localisation platform with a wider scope, we need a new logo and a new favicon We are very much open to your suggestions. There is no need to license and designs yet, but if your design is chosen, it is expected that it is licensed cc-by 3.0. Add your name below this topic if you are planning to work on this task of the todo list. Siebrand 17:59, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
