This message uses $2 in the same way, {{SITENAME}} is being used elsewhere.

While this may be desirable in cases when software has to deal with various wikis, and {{SITENAME}} may be less clear or not available, I recommend using {{SITENAME}} whenever applicable. {{SITENAME}} imho makes context and usage clearer, and it provides an easy single string to search for when a new wiki was set up, and wiki operators have to check that all mesages using the wiki name are correct for their language and their wiki name.
