Where did all the Greek translators come from?

Hi. Welcome again. I noticed that we had a sudden influx of translators for Greek this week. Can you tell me what made you come to translatewiki.net this week? Thanks.

In short, an invitation to translate the feedback tool by a member of the community.

Oh, nice. Who was that, because I'd like to thank that person :). Oh, please don't stop translating when that is done Greek needs many more translations :)!

Dear Siebrand, I made an anouncement today here in el.wiki village pump to translate the ArticleFeedback extension.

That's excellent. As you can see below, it worked pretty well. I hope you guys can keep up the momentum, and make a bug dent in the backlog for Greek translations before the end of the year!

Well, we celebrated 10 years for the first edit in el.wiki on 1st December 2002. I hope this will be a good opportunity for an editathon.

Small spoiler: There will be an end of the year translation rally. You'll be encouraged to make 500 or more contributions in the last 9 days of the year to share in a bounty. If you can make some publicity then, and get for example 15 Greek translators to qualify, you'll have translated all of MediaWiki and all extensions used by Wikimedia. Shared burdens can be fairly light :).

The publicity was made on the central announcement hub of el.wikipedia village pump here on 22th December. Due to personal obligations I couldn't make it to participate on Translation Rally.

Happy new year

No problem. Have a private translation rally whenever you like! There are still 27,000 or so untranslated strings for Greek.
