Translations

First, welcome to translatewiki :)

Its a nice change to see other people translating hindi messages.

Now, about the translations, here's a few general tips:

1. Never do an incomplete translation for mediawiki core or any extension active on any wikiproject. These translations are updated daily, so any partial translation may show up before you get to complete it.
2. Never do a translation if you are unsure what it means. You will find many messages lack proper documentation. In such cases, it is best to first try out the software yourself to find where and how the message is used. If you can't find it, ask at Support. But if you are ever in doubt, don't do a translation. No translation is always better than a bad translation. This is because if there is no translation, the original message will show up. But if there is a bad translation which means something different than originally intended, the users will be left confused.
3. Messages are usually split, as an example, a sentence if used at multiple places is split into various messages, one containing the sentence structure, and other messages containing the text which may change. In such cases, translation should be done in a manner that the various messages fit grammatically into the sentence structure. In case it is not possible to make a sentence structure which fits for all cases, report at Support.
4. Lastly, check out Portal:Hi/Terminology. If you have any standard terms that are missing from it, feel free to expand. If you think something in it should be changed, start a discussion at its talk page (and please notify me).

Also note that it is not necessary to copy the sentence structure format from english. English uses a subject-verb-object format whereas hindi uses an subject-object-verb format. If the english sentence structure is copied, sentences may look unnatural.

GENDER is a magic word here on translatewiki and should not be translated. Same for PLURAL.
