This new page shows "edit" links which presumably let us alter the messages in question. The "edit"-links are partially disabled now. A right click in Iceweasel (a Firefox clone under Debian GNU/Linux) opens a context menu. This menu now lacks the "Open in new Window" and "Open in new Tab" links, which I do need so as to make edits in my workflow (+ having the option to enter special characters and the like). Up to very recently, these standard links were present in the context menu. Please re-enable them. Thank you.

There hasn't been any code changes to the old editor that I'm aware of.

Of course there are. From the "translate" link in the sidebar, we get the old list. Entries in that list however link to new translation pages, whith the needed "open in new tab/window" links disabled.

We can get to the individual translation pages only by

  1. handcrafting URLS or
  2. finding a places from where to copy+paste message keys prefixed by namespaces names to the search box, but these are not shown any more. Once the message pages are on the screen via the search, we have to follow the "edit" or "create" links so as to be able to enter translations.

The "List" link in the top navbar of the individual message pages does not link to the previous list any more, but to the new translation page wich currently is not helpful. The "next/previous message" links next to it are not helpful either most of the time, since you most often end up stepping through lots of translated messages.

If you are referring to the new editor, the links are not disabled – there are no such links. The message key is shown at the top if you open a message.

In the sidebar there is link only to Special:LanguageStats. It's not new nor old list but a different thing.

You are right, the message keys are shown as you say. Sadly they are text without links.

Yes indeed, in the sidebar, there is a link to Special:LanguageStats. It is labelled "Translation tool", however, not "Statistics", thus I named it "list" above. Special:LanguageStats has links to group translation pages. Whether or not the "new editig interface" or the older one appears when you follow these links, varies. In my experience, with computer, operating systen and/or browser.

When I wrote the above, I was confronted for the 1st time with the "new editig interface" on a system where it was/is hardly suited for translating. Since links in Special:LanguageStats did something else than in the months before, I wrote that links were altered. I did not know yet, that it depends, what they. do.

Indeed, for the systems, where the links go to the old editing interface, nothing has changed.
