How can I know who changed an English message?

Whenever an English message is changed, "FuzzyBot" is the one who changes it (according to the revision history), and the edit summary is Importing a new version from external source. This edit summary also appears sometimes on translations, and I can't know who really made the change/translation because the edit is attributed to "FuzzyBot".

Where is this "external source", and is it possible to know who's exactly the translator who made the change?

The source is git. mw:Gerrit/Navigation#System_messages answers your question for MediaWiki; for the other projects you have to check the respective repositories, which are generally linked from the project page like Translating:OpenStreetMap.
