Instead of simply removing localized texts, why not make this page a normal translateable page? After all, there are only a few keystroke that need translation.

I'm not aware of LiquidThreads working in translatable pages.
Neither am I, but why not. If I had the right to do so, I had long given it a try making a new page in my user name space translatable and allowing Liquidthreads on it. If it works: fine; else: bad luck. :-)
