Welcome!

Hi!

I'm so happy to see you here. I see that you are a major contributor to the Tumbuka Wikipedia. Your help with translating into Tumbuka is needed here!

I've put a list of important projects on your user page: User:Tumbuka Arch. To start translating, click the links in this list. Start from the top: "Most used / Most important", and then Portals, and so on.

I also have a little question: When writing in Tumbuka, is it correct and necessary to write the name of your language as "chiTumbuka", with a capital letter "T" in the middle?

Hello Amir,

Thank you for a warm welcome.

Indeed i am more active on my home wiki of Tumbuka (tum.wikipedia.org) than in other wikis.I am just interested to see the number of Tumbuka articles grow.

Back to your little question, yes, it is correct to write chiTumbuka with a capital letter "T" within the name, since chi- means the language of.It is correct.

Could it also be possible to change Tumbuka Main Page Interface into Tumbuka language too? I could help with translations since i am a native Tumbuka speaker.

Which main page are you asking about? The one on translatewiki.net or the one at the Wikipedia?

As far as I can see, the content of the main page in Wikipedia is mostly translated. You should continue translating the "Most used" messages to complete the translations of the links and the menus.

The main page of translatewiki.net itself can be translated by completing the translation of these two projects:

  1. Twn Main Page: https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Special:Translate?filter=%21translated&action=translate&language=tum&group=ext-twnmainpage
  2. Translate: https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Special:Translate?filter=%21translated&action=translate&language=tum&group=ext-translate-core

The first one is small, but the second is quite big. It's useful to translate them both, but I recommend doing it a bit later, after you finish the other high-priority items listed on your user page, such as "Most used", "Portals", "Universal Language Selector", "Discussion Tools", and "Mobile Frontend".

Yes,i meant the interface of Tumbuka Wikipedia.

Thanks for helping tips.

Translation are export from translatewiki once a week. If you complete "Most used" before then end of this week, you'll probably see in on the live Tumbuka Wikipedia on Friday, June 24.

Thank you.

"Most used" words and phrases, along "portals" are all done translated while still working on the rest.

Tumbuka Arch (talk)05:12, 16 June 2022

Fantastic. If there are no problems, you'll be able to see it on the live Wikipedia by the end of the next week.

If you can send me the namespaces before Monday, you'll see them by the end of the next week, too!
