Changes to message's documentation

Hello. This changes (1, 2, 3 and 4) should be reported to phabricator, if you think they are needed.

It's simply not easy to locate where to report defects in source message, there are so many links to various places.

The easiest to report it is in the doc page (qqq) of each message (this suggests that developers are following changes to these docs when they create or update them), because the translation interface still lacks a possibility to comment changes, or to add message to the talk page associated to each translation (those talk pages, spread across multiple languages in separate are impossible to follow, but it is not impossible to follow the "qqq" documentation message.

Phabricator is not linked at all from translatewiki and not even in the "qqq" doc pages, which are also frequently empty.

I suggest to Wikimedia to create systematically a "qqq" doc page for each of their message, including a template linking to their Phabricator site on the appropriate section.

It is actually very easy: The “Ask for more information” link under qqq goes directly to Phabricator. It used to go to Support, hence the label; I guess that it should be changed.

Actually there's NO such “Ask for more information” link under qqq...

Yes there is.

Not in the 4 qqq documentation messages listed above. You took an example in another message.

The link is not in the documentation messages, but in the translate interface to the language you choose to translate to. Here is another image, choosing French.

You can also find them yourself here and here.

Please, stop saying that there is no link. If you don't find it, just try harder. But it's there.

That part is rarely visible (if we need to scroll down) and you assume that we are using only the generic translation interface (for translating multiple items). This place for reporting problems about a specific element should better be in the "/qqq" page, because it will always be displayed and editing items.

The displayed label also is not clear at all, when it says "Help" (this is not related to reporting problems). In fact it does not even go to thez appropriate bug reporting page.

I maintain that bug reporting links for a source message should better be in the "/qqq" page:

  • just include there a template relevant to the translation project or subproject;
  • in my opinion it should even be before the template listing "synonyms", which are not all concerned, when they are in fact just "related" by some common basic terminology (or because they are variants such as capitalisation, plural forms, conjugating times/modes, grammatical cases, abbreviated forms for use in table column headers, or small action links in the interface that are in used contexts not needing an full qualification...).
  • As this link will be everywhere in all messages when translating or reviewing them, I even suggest this template to be added at top of every "/qqq" page (which could display a small toolbar of relevant links: Help, Talk, Bug Report, Terminology, Project, Translators, Statitics, etc. The content of this template is to be defined by MediaWiki developers according to discussions and needs given by translators)
