Welcome to Betawiki!

Hi Alsandro. Welcome to Betawiki! Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. If you are going to be an active user here, please also add your name to the languages you will be working on. Before you can use Special:Translate, and Special:Magic, please request translator rights. If you have a wiki where a lot of translations have already been made, you can make an import request. Other useful pages are linked in the translatewiki.net menu that comes with this message.

Once you have started translating, your work will be committed to the standard product every few days. If you want to explicitely request your work to be added, please make a request for commit.

I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 23:34, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Please create a user page

Hi. Please create a user page with what you are working on here and make sure to add a link to your home wiki. Thanks. Cheers! Siebrand 28. elokuuta 2007 kello 12.25 (UTC)

Committing ka?

Hi Alsandro. Please give us some clarity on the ka localisation. Currently we have 338 updated messages] in this wiki. This means we have translations that we are not activating in the MediaWiki source because you have asked to wait on my user talk page somehwere end of September. We would like to give any project the benifits of translation, so please let us know if we can commit the current status, or please bring the current status to a point where we can commit as soon as possible. Cheers! Siebrand 12:30, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

No, what I asked to do exactly was to transfer translated mediawiki from w:ka - because I get more feedback from users there, hence the messages there are more up-to-date and grammatically refined. You said that you had to ask someone for permission (or something like that) and we've been waiting for this so far. You also posted a note at w:ka and i'm not sure how much feedback you got, but what you should really do is to import that file here first asap, then let me compare what's left untranslated and then commit. There is no other way around. What we have here is far inferiour to what we've developed at w.ka - so that version should be used as a starting point. - Alsandro · T · w:ka: Th · T 18:56, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
OK, then I was mistaken; I though Nike had imported the messages. Well, we have been busy preparing the move of Betawiki for the past few days, and now I also have direct access to the server. So I imported the messages from ka.wp. I wish you a productive next few days. Please check *all* messages for hard links to the project. They should all be removed and made generic. Cheers! Oh, and please create a user page. That we can bug you on your home project more easily if we need to :) Siebrand 17:08, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Extensions

Hi, Alsandro. I saw you translated most of the core messages. Good work! Don't forget there are many extensions to translate, most of which are used in Wikipedia. Cheers, Malafaya 11:55, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

It's now possible to translate to Megrelian (xmf). You can choose this language for the UI in your preferences here in BetaWiki. Cheers, Malafaya 15:49, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
You corrected the Megrelian translations for July and December. Does that mean the online dictionary may not be correct or it's just a dialect/form preference? Malafaya 15:31, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, OK, both forms for December are correct apparently: http://titus.uni-frankfurt.de/texte/etca/cauc/megr/kajaia/kajai.htm?kaj22220.htm. Malafaya 15:37, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Reaching the target for MediaWiki most used core messages

Hi, Alsandro.

As you probably know, in Betawiki, there is a group of MediaWiki messages considered essential for a minimum localization to any language. That group is called MediaWiki core message (most used). When a language reaches at a translation level of at least 98% of these messages, it is considered to have the essential localization. As of end of March, there were 95 of the 311 languages at this level and it would be great the increase that number further. As Georgian is currently at 95.32%, very little effort would be needed to reach 98%, or even better, 100%. Therefore, I would like to invite you to complete the missing translations and make Georgian be part of the list of essentialy localized languages.

Thanks for your attention and best regards, Malafaya 14:15, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello, and please excuse the English. My name is Erica and I am a community liaison for the visual editor at the Wikimedia Foundation.

I'm contacting you today as you are proficient in Georgian, to ask you some time-sensitive help with translations related to the visual editor, here and at Mediawiki.org. I'm therefore providing this little table, hoping it can make the work easier for you, and please do not hesitate to contact me immediately if you need any further information.

I'd like to thank you in advance for what you will do and for the invaluable support you will provide to the Georgian wikimedian community! (Please feel free to forward this message to other community members who may be equally interested or able to contribute.) Best,

Elitre (WMF) (talk)15:57, 28 January 2016

Also adding Mingrelian!, if you can? Thank you very much.
