User talk:Yury Tarasievich
Welcome to Betawiki!
Hi Yury Tarasievich. Welcome to Betawiki. Before you can use Special:Translate, please request translator rights at Betawiki:Translators. Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on.
Once you have started translating, please remember to often request a commit of your translation work at Translating:Tasks. This makes the number of changes easier to handle for the devs.
I wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Cheers! Siebrand 21:28, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Messages imported
Hi Yury. Please create a user page with a link to your home project, in case someone would like to contact you in case you are not here that often.
I have imported the messages from be.wikipedia.org. Previously we had a record for 692 messages, which has now changed to 814 messages. Please check them *all* and correct where needed. Please keep in mind that you are making a generic MediaWiki interface translation, so *all* references to Wikipedia should be taken out. What you might want to do after checking and correcting the current messages, is translate the remaining messages out of the 500 most used messages in MediaWiki. Good luck and please let us know if you have any questions. Cheers! Siebrand 21:48, 19 November 2007 (UTC) P.s. please try to complete the audit of the imported messages as soon as possible and request a commit when done, because we are currently having a messages file for be that is not in sync with that of the MediaWiki code...
- Hey Yury. I see you have done a lot of work
. I will commit the first batch today. You will still be able to make changes to messages that have been committed and that you want to improve or correct. Cheers! Siebrand 19:24, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Proposed removal of localised skin names
Hi Yury. Can you please explain the background of wanting to remove the localised skin names for 'be'? We usually do not remove localisations, we only add/change. Cheers! Siebrand 13:17, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's just that in the academic literary norm there's no real tradition of translation of the proper names. We rather have transcription for those, and in the IT the verbatim English names are also quite wide-spread... The current translations of skins' names are both dubious and poorly done, at that. Rather than fix them I'd rather have them nulled, right now. Yury Tarasievich 13:39, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Messages with problems

Hello, thanks for your translations to Belarusian! Please join the discussion at Thread:Portal talk:Be/Language fallback. The question is: when a message is not translated in Belarusian (be), would it be good to show the Russian (ru) translation where available, instead of the English (en) original?
http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:RecentChanges&hidebots=0&translations=only&trailer=%2Fbe Сообщения меняются время от времени. (Я про ботов)
Я не понял этого то ли вопроса, то ли утверждения. Yury Tarasievich 16:39, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
Yury Tarasievich 09:08, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
