I've got a problem in translating this message ("x days ago") to Tetum as there are special words for the expressions 2 to 6 days ago. Is there any way to do this with the PLURAL magic word?

I would suggest filing a bug that it is not entirely forgotten.

Did you also check with CLDR? This case should be known there and be incorporated into their PLURAl handling, if not already done (which I sincerely doubt)
