Translating date and time formats

Hello, I am working on translating the Myanmar Wikipedia through Betawiki and I was referred to you for translating numerals and time and date formats for the localisation process. Sure! For numbers I need a list of western -> your numeral mappings. For time and date formats I need detailed explanations of the requested format(s). If there is any standards you can refer to, always better. – Nike 22:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean by mapping, but the Unicode code point range for Burmese numerals is here (U+1040 to U+1049). Here are the numbers:

For a Myanmar-compatible Unicode font, check here: [1]. I'm not well-versed in all of the standards of date and time formats, but typical Burmese standards for date are as follows (uppercase = numbers):

• DAY MONTH YEAR (such as ၂၈ ဇူလိုင် ၂၀၀၈ "28 July 2008") (most commonly used, such as time stamps)
• YEAR year MONTH month DAY day (such as ၂၀၀၈ ခုနှစ် ဇူလိုင်လ ၂၈ ရက် "2008 year July month 28 day) (standard long format that isn't used except in writing)
• DAY-MONTH-YEAR (such as ၂၈၊ ၇၊ ၀၈ "28-7-08" or ၂၈၊ ၇၊ ၂၀၀၈ "28-7-2008") (abbreviated form; hyphen can also be used to separate numbers, like so: ၂၈-၇-၀၈)

I believe the months have already been converted to Myanmar but if you need them, I've listed them:

• January = ဇန်နဝါရီ
• February = ဖေဖော်ဝါရီ
• March = မတ်
• April = ဧပြီ
• May = မေ
• June = ဇွန်
• July = ဇူလိုင်
• August = ဩဂုတ်
• September = စက်တင်ဘာ
• October = အောက်တိုဘာ
• November = နိုဝင်ဘာ
• December = ဒီဇင်ဘာ

As for time standards, the 24-hr clock is used. The notations follow standard formatting:

• ၁၉:၅၀ ("19:50")

When putting time and date together, both traditional Burmese delimiter "၊" or English comma can be used.

Also, I was wondering whether you work with localization for numerals in general. For example, the auto. generated numbers this page or the heading numbers on this page appear in English, and I don't know how to have the numbers automatically converted to Myanmar numerals.

The numbers do not use any thousand separators but do use decimals, same as in English (100.012 = ၁၀၀.၀၁၂)--Hintha 08:49, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

ဇန်နဝါရ --> ဇန်နဝါရီ is the correct spelling. The time (H:i) should use colons. And there's no space between the delimiter and time: "၊ " not " ၊ ". Aside from that everything looks fine.
