Openstreetmap - I want to translate or make changes/corrections to Greek translations
When trying to correct the translation from "Κατεύθηνση: Template:Way name" to the correct "Κατεύθυνση: Template:Way name"
...it gives me an error "You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason: You do not have permission to edit pages in the Osm namespace."

It looks like you're diving in head first without checking how deep the water is. That's dangerous. Have a look at Special:FirstSteps, and please follow directions. Good luck!
questions for adsense extension
Hi Siebren, i have two questions concerning your adsense extension.
1. remove the 'google adsense' text outside the box: hi, i use this extension on my website www.klusopedia.nl and it works great. thanks for that! i have one small question, how can i remove or at least change the google adsense text that is just above the box. This is bugging me a bit since it already says google ads standard withing the box. Thanks! RT
2.is there an extension for google ad links in the footer?: i once saw a website that had google ad links on every page in the footer. does anyone know of such an extension? Would be great to complement on this one!

Mediawiki:Searcharticle
Op Translatewiki.net heb ik de tekst van MediaWiki:Searcharticle voor de nds-nl-wiki al ruim een week/twee weken terug veranderd, maar na het legen van de cache etc. staat er nog steeds dezelfde tekst. Enig idee hoe dat kan (heb het wel eens vaker gehad een dergelijk probleem op de nds-nl-wiki).
Ik begrijp dat er een bug zou zitten in LocalisationUpdate ... Roan zou hier naar kijken.
Die melding ging over 'et'. Ik heb Roan een mail gestuurd met een verwijzing naar deze melding. Hem kennende gaat hij het zeker uitzoeken.
Ik ben erachter: er zat een bug in de localisation cache (een subsysteem van MediaWiki dat het opzoeken van vertalingen versnelt) waardoor veranderingen door extensies (zoals LocalisationUpdate) aan bepaalde veelgebruikte messages die voorgeladed ('preloaded') worden, niet opgepikt werden: het preloaden gebeurde voordat LU de kans kreeg iets te veranderen. Een lijst van de getroffen messages is te vinden in de $preloadedMessages variable in de MessagesXx.php bestanden.
Ik heb dit gefixt in SVN en zal de fix nog voor de update van vannacht live zetten.
P.s. Alsjeblieft Support gebruiken. Ik wil liever niet dat iedereen direct afhankelijk is van mij.

Dag Siebrand, ik heb me zonet aangegeven op de translator-pagina om mee te helpen aan Vlaamse vertalingen. Is het nu de bedoeling dat ik naar Vlaamse dialecten ga vertalen of gewoon standaard Nederlands, maar dan Vlaams getint? Groeten
In Vlaanderen (het Nederlands sprekende deel van België) wordt gewoon ABN gesproken. Het is niet de bedoeling dat hiervoor een aparte locale wordt gemaakt. Als je aan "Nederlands" wilt werken, werk dan gewoon aan de verschillende producten in 'nl'. Als je in 'nl' iets tegenkomt dat typisch "als in Nederland" wordt geformuleerd, meld dat dan op Portal_talk:Nl, dan kunnen we een wijze van formuleren vinden die zowel voor Nederlands sprekende inwoners van Belgie als Nederlands sprekende inwoners van Nederland te begrijpen zijn - ik hoop dat je deze uitzondering niet al te veel tegenkomt.
Voor MediaWiki is er een localisatie 'vls' (Vlaams). Ik heb geen idee wat daar precies de insteek voor is, maar het staat je vrij daaraan te werken.

Dank voor verdere info, Siebrand. Wat Vlaams (vls) betreft ben ik een beetje sceptisch en hou ik me eerder een beetje afstandelijk, aangezien het precies alleen op West-Vlaams slaat. Vlaams echter is ook voornamelijk Oost-Vlaams, Zuid-Brabants en Antwerps. Het Belgisch Limburgs valt daar ook onder, maar dat is nog een geval apart eigenlijk. Ik spreek zelf ook A(B)N, dus wordt alles voor me duidelijk.

Language names
Hi Siebrand, I've got a question about language names: in Friulian (fur) they often appear in Italian. Is it possible to translate them somewhere? Mostly they aren't very annoying, but somewhere they look out of place: for example in the sidebar I get: "Traduzions pal friulano" while it should be "Traduzions pal furlan" (in English it's "Translations in Friulian"), because it uses Italian language name. Get your locale in CLDR. If the language name translations make it in there, they will be visible here in 'fur' eventually, too.
We only import the translations on a CLDR release. Current is 1.7.0 (1.7.2 is out, but does not contain content updates).

Text direction problem
For creating an alias for category namespace
Hi, After the release of Unicode 5.1.0 some of Malayalam characters facing two different encoding. Malayalam category namespace including one such character. Resolving a filed bug is time consuming process ;-). Is there any option in translate wiki to do this?
Our current category namespace is വര്ഗ്ഗം, we need an alias വർഗ്ഗം. According to unicode both are same. Please check http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/wiki/wikitech/184440 also. Thanks
I think you mean Special:AdvancedTranslate, option "Namespace names"? It will take a while before those changes are processed. Please use Support for future queries. I was on holiday for a few days...

List of extensions which are a little behind being completely translated

Is there a way to get a list of extensions which are 80-90% translated into Persian (or which need 10-20 messages to be translated to get complete), so I can deal with them?

Is this still the case now that we are using the new server? What browser and version are you using? Do you have the same problem if you are using a different (recent) browser version?
Today I didn't face it yet. But on 20th January, I got it very frequently (almost when trying to save all edited messages). I didn't check it in browsers other than Firefox 3.5.7. When I got them, I lost patience and decided to report. Sorry

Allereerst excuus dat ik dit misschien op de verkeerde plaats aankaart. Op nl.wikipedia werd voorgesteld Misbruiklogboek te hernoemen naar Filterlogboek. Hier blijkt consensus voor te zijn. Zie hier voor het voorstel en de achterliggende redenen (en daarna had ik het verzoek hier geplaatst, wat eigenlijk niet nodig was. Ik dacht dat de speciale pagina wel via de Mediawiki-naamruimte hernoemt zou kunnen worden, bij navraag in het tech-kanaal bleek dat niet waar te zijn, het moest via translatewiki. Zij stelden voor dat ik jou even benaderde hierover, bij deze dus. Het lijkt me dat deze hernoeming voor alle Mediawiki-projecten handig kan zijn. Kun je het verzoek uitvoeren?
Doe ik. Kan wel enige tijd duren voordat het doorkomt op Wikimedia. Zie FAQ #1.
Aangepast. [1] en [2]. De bewerkingen uit de eerste link worden waarschijnlijk morgennacht gesynchroniseerd naar Wikimedia. De namen van de speciale pagina's pas als ze door ons gecommit zijn (om de paar weken, en Wikimedia daarna de volledige code bijwerkt; de laatste keer was begin oktober).
