Support

Hi {{{1}}}. Welcome to translatewiki.net! Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. Before you can use Special:Translate, please request translator rights. You should also check the portal for your language, the link is in the sidebar. Other useful pages are linked in the translatewiki.net menu that comes with this message.

Your translations are transferred to the standard product every few days or every few weeks depending on the product. Please notice that it may take longer before you see your translation in the actual product. It can be just a few days before they appear on Wikipedia, but a few months can pass between each new release of FreeCol.

We wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Please leave any questions on Support. Cheers!

Notes

  • Please avoid editing the core messages. I take care about them.
  • Please see the fixes for the translations.
  • Please avoid editing the magic words, namespace names, skin names and special page aliases.

Thanks. – rotemlissTalk 11:50, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

O.K., I saw your corrections, more into making the messages coherent and translating their meaning then translating word to word, and only touching the extensions, got it. StuB 14:51, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Please also pay special attention to full stops in ends of messages - they should be retained in translation, otherwise the translation looks unprofessional.
Also note that all the requests for core messages, fixes for pre-existing messages or special page aliases changes (or magic words, etc.) are better sent to me. New extension messages translation, however, is welcome.
Note also that it's no use to add comments in messages, and that in some cases (plain-text messages) they may be shown in the page. In the case of the Vote extension, though, I am not really sure what is the purpose of the jokes (?) in the messages.
Thanks for your translations so far! – rotemlissTalk 10:25, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Hebrew Translation Guidelines

I've created a page of Hebrew Translation Guidelines (written in Hebrew): User:Rotemliss/Hebrew Translation Guidelines (written in Hebrew). Please read it if you translate messages. Thanks. – rotemlissTalk 12:23, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
