In FAQ#What_is_a_fallback_language? there is a link to the table for fallback languages. The page linked to is obsolete and in fact references a script
php maintenance/language/checkLanguage.php that no longer exists (see https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/core/+/585481 ). The preferred method now to check fallback languages is to look at languages/messages/Messages<lang_code_here>.php and check the setting of
Updated with your info plus a link to find those source files easily.
This section opens with: "If you spot a spelling or grammar error in the original English message, or you would like to suggest a better way of expressing the message, then please do not change the English message but instead put a message on the talk page of the project concerned." In the section "Messages which are left blank in the default system messages", it says:
- If you look at MediaWiki:Sitenotice in the list of Special:Allmessages here at translatewiki.net you will see [...]
Should the link be redirected to a wiki where Special:AllMessages works, or should the default contents of MediaWiki:Sitenotice be shown (/ linked to) some other way?
Special:AdvancedTranslate is mentioned a few times. But the link is red for me. Has it been renamed?
