GENDER support for 'user' and 'username'

GENDER support for 'user' and 'username'

In Spanish, 'user' is translated as 'usuario' (male) o 'usuaria' (female). So every message containing 'user' and 'username' should have GENDER support.

Thanks in advance.

Same thing with 'translator' (tradutor/traductora)

Please report the specific messages you need gender support for when you see them, or it's impossible to help. (Hundreds cases have already been fixed.)

I've spoted many messages and thought it'd be much easier, more errorproof and less "noisy" if someone made a script for searching (and probably replacing) those words across all messages, and then make a mass bug filling. What do you think about that?

Macofe (talk)03:54, 6 July 2014

Mass replacing is not possible: adding GENDER support where missing requires changes to the actual code (usually small, but not always). The search can't be automated either. Someone else made this request previously at bugzilla:57076, can you register and cc yourself there? I'll post a (very long) list of messages to check there; I'd love if you helped sorting it out.

I wasn't aware of that bug. I'm registered anc CCed now. I'll check your list. Thank you.
