Gender for languages lacking gender?

Gender for languages lacking gender?

What is this gender for - in languages lacking gender??? It should be possible to switch it OFF for an entire language!!!

Have you read Gender? I don't understand what's the problem exactly, you just can/have to ignore it (as in the English source) when it's not needed.

Well, yes, I have. But I don't understand why it is still need in some cases. I mean this example: MediaWiki:Logentry-newusers-byemail/qu.

In that case it is not even needed in Spanish (though I know it is needed in Slavic languages).

As the instructions say, you only have to leave it as is, if you don't need a gender distinction. For instance, assuming the current translation is correct: $1 {{GENDER:$2|creó}} la cuenta de usuario $3 y la contraseña se envió por correo electrónico (it's the same in Italian). Do you have suggestions to clarify the instructions? Thanks,

@nemo:
Excuse my intrusion. I understood that AlimanRuna (talk) was suggesting to completely switch the use and checks for GENDER off for some specific languages.

@AlimanRuna
This can be done. Request it here. A developer must do it. Just name the language(s) and make sure that GENDER is not only currently not used but GENDER distinctions are not part of the language.
