Northern Thai language name change

Northern Thai language name change

Hi I would like to request a change of Northern Thai language name, change the name คำเมือง to (ᨽᩣᩈᩣᨣᩤᩴᨾᩮᩬᩥᨦ), the translation of the ᨽᩣᩈᩣᨣᩤᩴᨾᩮᩬᩥᨦ name is as follows.

  • ᨽᩣᩈᩣ=Language
  • ᨣᩤᩴᨾᩮᩬᩥᨦ=(Kham Muang/คำเมือง) Meaning=Northern Thai
  • ᨽᩣᩈᩣᨣᩤᩴᨾᩮᩬᩥᨦ=Northern Thai language

Northern Thai currently does not have access to the popular Unicode, so it may be difficult to see Northern Thai text, thanks.

Tai Tham is in Unicode and I can see this text on my computer.

However, I have a few questions:

  1. Do you actually know this language? You translate to a lot of languages. It's better if native speakers do it.
  2. Till now, Northern Thai has been written here in the Thai script. How much is the Tai Tham script used?
  3. Is the name you propose written anywhere outside Wikipedia? For example, in books or academic articles?
