Welcome back
Hello, I'm happy to see you're back despite that incident a while ago, keep up the good work! Regards,
Indeed, and if you can finish the most used messages, Turoyo will be added to MediaWiki so you can use the language as your interface language on all Wikimedia projects (including Wikipedia and Incubator).
Yes in the last time it was a litle bit difficult for me to find time to translate expressions on this platform. However there is another reason too why I did not translate in the last time. You have to imagine, that Turoyo is a farmerlanguage. So there are a lot of expressions which are intranslateable into Turoyo . For this reason in some cases I used the english expressions. I hope you dont mind that. I´m sorry but there is no other possibility for this time. I will ask some other ntaive speaker to improve it! I hope you can understand that!
Sure! This is a wiser approach than inventing translations on your own. Beside asking native speakers, the ideal is to check other software projects and how they translate technical terms, if you can find some such projects.
Now i have translated the 500 most used expressions, can we go the next step now? Thank u!
Sure, the next step is translating the rest of the core messages: translating all of them makes a fully functional basic MediaWiki (without extensions). I don't remember what's the exact percentage of core messages which needs to be translated before the language is enabled on MediaWiki, the point is that even after that you have to know that more work is needed; ask the staff on Support to add it to exported languages, siebrand or Raymond will answer you soon (but they're very busy these days).
Now I have translated the most used massages as good as I could. Would you please add Turoyo to to the exportes languages. thank you very much!
I have added Turoyo to MediaWiki in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/16460/
It will take a few days to a few weeks for it to be merged and then deployed to all Wikimedia wikis.
If a message is not translated to Turoyo, it will currently show the English message in the interface. Would it be better if it "falls back" to another language, like Turkish or Syriac?
