Hi නන්දිමිතුරු. Welcome to translatewiki.net! Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. Before you can use Special:Translate, please request translator rights. You should also check the portal for your language, the link is in the sidebar. Your translations are transferred to the standard product every few days or every few weeks depending on the product. Please notice that it may take longer before you see your translation in the actual product. It can be just a few days before they appear on Wikipedia, but a few months can pass between each new release of FreeCol.

Dear Nandimithuru, Thank you very much for your translation effort. Really it is very useful your effort for bring up Sinhala community with Sinhala interface Wikis. In addition,I would like to give some important ideas to when doing translations.
- Sinhala Spellings(i.e Mahaprana, na,la....)
- Contextual match (i.e We know their are more meanings(senses) for one English word and Sinhala too, So please when words are translated the context in which they occur should be taken into consideration.
- And Specially consider when translating most important UI messages. (E.g Login/Log off, View source, Log ,...) Because, Sometime you already know, their are common issues(in discussion) with Sinhala localization community. So we have to keep our patient until it consolidate.
- Word order, In English language basically we can see SVO(Subject, Verb, Object) word order, but Sinhala has in genaral SOV (Subject, Object, Verb) word order. So we have to consider that issue also. ( E.g About Wikipedia ==> විකිපීඩීයාව ගැන (Word phrase)...)
Take this information and add your experiences for next users.go ahead. Good luck !

Check default localisation against site specific
Hi. With the Singalese localisation for MediaWiki core almost complete, you may want to check if there are any inconsistencies in the localisation on si.wp here. I my advice is to delete pages that do not need a local overrule. Cheers! Siebrand 08:42, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
