If you are going to be an active user here, please also add your name to the languages you will be working on. Before you can use Special:Translate, and Special:Magic, please request translator rights. If you have a wiki where a lot of translations have already been made, you can make an import request. Other useful pages are linked in the translatewiki.net menu that comes with this message.

Once you have started translating, your work will be committed to the standard product every few days. If you want to explicitely request your work to be added, please make a request for commit.

Kusaidia kutafsiri kwenye Kiswahili

Ningependa kusaidia katika kazi ya kutafsiri ujumbe za mfumo kwenye Kiswahili. Lakini mimi si mswahili. Nilijifunza Kiswahili nilipoishi Tanzania. Kwa hiyo sitaki kutafsiri peke yangu, bila kuwasiliana na mswahili. Ikiwa unataka kuendelea kuongeza idadi ya ujumbe za mfumo zilizotafsiriwa, na ukiona vyema nikusaidie katika kazi hiyo, ningeweza labda (nikipata nafasi), kufanya yafuatayo:

• Kutafsiri maswali katika Kiingereza ili kuyaweka kwenye ukarasa wa ‘Support’. Hata kutafsiri jibu ningeweza kujaribu kufanya – tatizo mara nyingine ni kuelewa maana ya jibu kwa sababu huwa inaandikwa na fundi wa compiwta ambao siwaelewi!
• Nimeshazoea kutafsiri katika lugha yangu ya Kiwales. Kwa hiyo, ukipenda kunipa ujumbe katika Kiingereza pamoja na tafsiri yake katika Kiswahili, nipo tayari kutafuta ujumbe yanayohusika na kuhifadhi tafsiri yake hapa.
• Ningeweza kutafsiri ujumbe kadhaa na kuomba msaada wako kuzihariri kabla sijazihifadhi.

Recommended process for translating MediaWiki

Hi Muddyb Blast Producer. Just a little advice on what to do first to make your work have the highest impact. Of course you should feel free to do things differently, but please know that we have given things serious thought. I am looking very much forward to a lot of contributions from your side on Swahili! The below is taken from Translating:How_to_start. Cheers! Siebrand 12:47, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

• first translate the most often used messages
• complete the core messages
• check if you should translate any optional messages
• do a consistency check (terminology, formal/informal) on your localisation
• translate special page names, magic words, namespaces and skin names on Special:Magic
• translate the extension messages used in Wikimedia wikis
• translate the remaining extension messages
• do a consistency check (terminology, formal/informal) on your localisation between core messages and extension messages
• start maintaining your language's localisation on a regular basis. At least once per month is recommended.

Babel extension on Betawiki

Kuhariri tafsiri

Ningeshukuru sana kama ungeweza kutazama mabadiliko yangu kwenye jumbe, mara kwa mara, kuhakikisha kwamba Kiswahili ni sanifu. Nimeanza kutafsiri jumbe zingine bila kuuliza kwanza.
