Anglojęzyczne słowo avatar oznacza obrazek będący miniaturką portretu osoby posługującej się tym avatarem. W języku polskim słowo awatar oznacza «wcielenie boga, który zstępuje do świata ludzi w postaci zwierzęcia, człowieka lub hybrydy, by przywrócić zachwiany ład świata» PWN. Tłumacząc lepiej unikać tworzenia nowych znaczeń.

Tak wiem, ale przyzwyczaiłem się do terminu "avatar", tym bardziej, że do tej pory był używany na Wikii. Ale niech już będzie portret ;)
