Translating offline

Hi Mayday. Welcome to! Please create a user page on which you describe which language(s) you will be working on. Before you can use Special:Translate, please request translator rights. You should also check the portal for your language, the link is in the sidebar. Other useful pages are linked in the menu that comes with this message.

Your translations are transferred to the standard product every few days or every few weeks depending on the product. Please notice that it may take longer before you see your translation in the actual product. It can be just a few days before they appear on Wikipedia, but a few months can pass between each new release of FreeCol.

We wish you a productive and pleasant stay. Please leave any questions on Support. Cheers!

User page

It would be nice if you could create a user page for yourself with some bit of information. You can look other user pages for examples. Thanks! – Nike 15:45, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and you should go trough the normal process of requesting translator rights. – Nike 15:47, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Can you tell me how? I am a newbie in wiki.
The help text above this discussion should tell you how. German Wikipedia probably has some general help how to use wikies. Most of the policies and content related issues don't apply here, however. – Nike 18:10, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Thx. Perhabs I was unclear, with Wikipedia I know to work. But Betawiki is new for me. You mentioned a "normal process of requesting translator rights". So I thought I have done something wrong. Perhabs you can tell me, why I need this rights (I think I can translate never the less?) and how to get it. Because if I follow the related translation registration page, which is mentioned there first: "This page is only for requests to translate Mediawiki and its extensions. People interested in translating FreeCol should go to FreeCol". So I thought I'll be wrong here? My user page I already have created. Greetings, Mayday 12:06, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
